The Men of Kol Ami (MOKA) promotes the spirituality, education and social engagement of Congregation Kol Ami’s Brotherhood. We welcome, invite and encourage all men of the Congregation to be a part of MOKA.
MOKA provides a wide range of activities throughout the year, including a Sukkot Dinner under Kol Ami's rooftop Sukkah, a Chanukah Celebration, Dodger games and bowling nights. Mitzvah projects as well as cultural and social activities, created by MOKA members, round out our programming.
Through many MOKA events supported by our Brotherhood, we are proud and dedicated to support local and national charities, our Congregation, as well as improving the world (tikkun olam), and promoting justice and charity (tzedakah).
MOKA is a member of the Men of Reform Judaism (MRJ).
Carl is being honored, not only for his contributions to MOKA in 2015, but for his overall commitment to Congregation Kol Ami. He has co-chaired our Brotherhood's annual Sukkot Dinner and Night at the Hollywood Bowl, as well as volunteering at countless events. An accomplished Torah Chanter at our Brotherhood Shabbat and monthly volunteer at SOVA, the Jewish Family Services Food Pantry, Carl is also a devoted Team Kol Ami member in the AIDS Walk Los Angeles and the Walk to End Genocide.
