Dear Kol Ami Community, I want to share some important news about our Board of Trustees. I have recently appointed to our Board, temple member, Murray Levin to fulfill the term of Johanna Schorr who recently resigned from our board. Johanna is newly retired from her work as a psychologist and felt it was the right time for her to step down from Temple leadership to enjoy her new free time! We thank her for her service and for her wonderful contributions to our Temple! She is still an active member of Kol Ami, so please thank her for her service when you see her next!
Murray
Murray has been a member for the past several years. He has served on our Budget and Finance committee. Murray is a CPA by training and currently serves as the Director of Finance for the National Council of Jewish Women. He went to USC and has held numerous positions of leadership in the Jewish community. He and his partner, Martin Perea are excited to deepen their involvement in our Temple community. Welcome to Murray in this new leadership role in our Temple.

VISION Act & #FreeVithea Rally Friday, March 25 at 11:00 AM Tzedek Council and RAC-California co-sponsor a rally to call on Los Angeles Senators and Governor Newsom to pass the #VISION Act and support disabled Cambodian refugee Vithea Yung and others like him who face an ICE transfer in the coming weeks.Register here
Shortly after Vithea was born, he and his family fled the Cambodian genocide. Since the age of 4, Vithea has only known the United States as his home. Vithea has already served over 25 years in prison. While incarcerated, in 2016 Vithea was seriously injured, causing him to become permanently paralyzed in all four of his limbs. Deporting Vithea, a medically disabled person, to a country he has no ties to is cruel and inhumane. Free Vithea Action Toolkit
